Email Stephen KnowlesStephen is a partner with the firm having joined in 1997. He trained with a large general practice in Westminster where he obtained particular experience in civil litigation. Upon qualification he joined a firm in Liverpool specialising in personal injury and employment work. The personal injury work was primarily for insurance clients, particularly in the employer’s liability field. On the employment side work was undertaken for several multinational companies particularly in the brewing trade.

In 1994 Stephen joined an eight partner firm in Wakefield. Whilst retaining his personal injury and employment specialisation, his work was mainly for private clients and small businesses. Invaluable experience was obtained of the Legal Aid Scheme (as it then was).

Since joining Burn and Company Stephen has developed particular experience in drafting commercial agreements for a wide variety of matters with special focus on partnership agreements and shareholder agreements.

Stephen’s employment work has continued at Burn and Company particularly for small businesses and entrepreneurs. His work includes both non-contentious (contract advice and drafting) and contentious work (Employment Tribunal and County Court claims).
